Harvest Young Adults

One Aim 2 Corinthians 5:9

The foundation of Harvest Durham Young Adults’ One Aim is built on 2 Corinthians 5:9, which says,
 “Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him”.

That’s it! Through fellowship, worship, prayer, teaching and ministry alongside one another, we hope to develop mature Disciples of Christ in the church who will actively serve and make it their ambition to please Him… in everything! When we make it our end goal to glorify God by being obedient to His word we are offering our bodies joyfully as holy sacrifices for spiritual service, which is “…good and acceptable and perfect.” (Rom. 12:1-2). God is most glorified in us when we make it our One Aim to live in obedience and please Him!

It’s important we as believers maintain an eternal perspective of our temporary home here on earth and live in light of knowing what we do today will be remembered when we are before the Lord on that day (Col. 3). This earthly body then has such a great impact on eternity because it is our tool and means now to use for good deeds for His glory. That is the heart and mindset we hope to develop and nourish through the Word here at Harvest Young Adults – learning to walk like Christ each day to please Him in everything!
